I’m Neil Robinson, founder of NHR Commercial.
I’ve spent 30 years working across financial services, technology, property, data and SaaS, helping businesses identify opportunities, develop propositions, build strategic partnerships and turn ideas into commercially viable propositions.
My experience has been built at the intersection of market opportunity, technology and commercial execution - understanding what customers and markets need, shaping the proposition and developing a practical route to market.

My experience spans the different parts of the financial services and property ecosystem - from consumers and advisers through to lenders, insurers, investment businesses and the technology platforms that connect them.
I understand the day-to-day challenges faced by IFAs and mortgage brokers, having worked within the sector as well as with the technology, data and propositions that support it.
I can help businesses assess how technology can improve adviser and broker processes, from CRM and workflow through to sourcing, affordability, customer journeys and the use of data.
I understand the journey from consumer, through adviser or broker, to lender, insurer or investment provider - and the technology, data and distribution channels that sit between each stage.
That understanding allows me to help businesses develop practical GTM and distribution strategies: identifying the right markets and customer segments, understanding how propositions need to be positioned, and determining the most effective routes to market.
This can include entering new markets, developing new propositions, identifying strategic partnerships and creating distribution models that connect a business with the customers and organisations it needs to reach.
I can also help businesses understand where opportunities exist within an existing ecosystem, where processes or propositions are creating friction, and how technology and data can be used to improve the customer and commercial journey.
In the mortgage journey, delays and failures typically come down to two fundamental areas: the person or the property.
I have experience across both.
On the CUSTOMER side, this includes affordability, credit, open banking and the analysis of financial behaviour and spending patterns.
On the PROPERTY side, it includes property attributes, construction, location and the risks and perils that can affect property suitability, valuation and lending decisions.
This combination gives me a particular understanding of how data and technology can be used to make mortgage decisions faster, more consistent and more efficient.
I can help lenders and other financial businesses identify where data, technology and intelligent decisioning can streamline processes, reduce manual intervention and improve operational efficiency.
This could include assessing opportunities to automate elements of underwriting and eligibility, bringing together disparate data sources, improving policy and rules-based decisioning, or developing propositions that enable a quick yes or quick no.
The objective isn't technology for its own sake. It's using the right data and technology to solve a commercial or operational problem.
I’m pragmatic, commercially focused and comfortable working at both strategic and practical levels.
I don't believe in strategy for its own sake. The objective is always to get to a clear opportunity, a credible proposition and a practical route to market.
I work with businesses on a project, advisory or fractional basis, depending on what they need.
